A lack of understanding on how mortgages work is preventing people from making the most of the housing market.
Paula John, editor in chief of Your Mortgage magazine, believes that people lack the basics when it comes to getting the best deal because they simply aren’t interested in learning about finance.This, she believes, strengthens the call for financial classes to be given to children in schools.
"There is a lack of understanding and then there is a lack of interest as well. A lot of people see a mortgage as a means to an end; it is a good way to buy your property and once you have done that, you forget about it.
